Fiber Optic Labor

Austin, TX
Full Time
Entry Level

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Fiber Optic Laborer to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be instrumental in installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks that form the backbone of modern communication infrastructure. Your hands-on expertise will ensure reliable high-speed connectivity for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to cutting-edge telecommunication projects, this role is perfect for you!

No experience in fiber optics? No problem.

We train you from day one and put tools in your hands — not just theories. If you can show up on time, work hard outdoors, and follow safety protocols, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting fiber optic installation crews in the field — digging, trenching, pulling cable, and conduit work
  • Operating hand tools and light equipment under crew lead supervision
  • Following traffic control, safety, and OSHA guidelines on job sites
  • Loading, unloading, and organizing materials and equipment
  • Working alongside experienced technicians and learning on the job every day

What We're Looking For

  • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the US
  • Valid driver's license preferred (or reliable transportation to job sites)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic — punctual, dependable, and a team player
  • Prior construction, landscaping, utility, or labor experience is a plus — but not required

What You Get

  • $20.00/hr starting pay — paid weekly
  • Consistent 40-hour workweek with overtime available
  • On-the-job training — no prior fiber optic experience needed
  • Clear path to grow into technician and crew lead roles
  • PPE and safety gear supplied from day one
  • Stable, in-demand industry work — fiber optic is the future of infrastructure

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined or tight spaces
  • Must be able to work on uneven terrain and active construction sites
