Job Title: Preconstruction Director

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and driven Preconstruction Director  to lead and mentor our preconstruction department team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships while ensuring the successful delivery of value-driven, high-quality preconstruction services. This position plays a vital role in strategic planning, customer development, estimating, budgeting, and the overall growth of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to preconstruction and project management teams.

  • Lead initiatives in estimating, budgeting, proposal development, marketing/sales support, customer development, planning and scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and follow-up.

  • Actively participate in strategic planning and execution, including marketing and promoting services to current and potential clients.

  • Coordinate training initiatives in all aspects of the construction industry.

  • Manage and balance workload distribution across various profit centers and teams.

  • Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction budgets and schedules.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering responsive, innovative, and value-added services.

  • Work closely with senior project managers, business development teams, and marketing groups to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Foster a safety-first environment through training and promotion of safe work practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in construction project management.

  • 3+ years leading a team of 6 or more direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading preconstruction teams and setting strategic direction.

  • Ability to meet and manage team goals, budgets, and deadlines effectively.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical leadership with a focus on leveraging technology and analytics.

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Expertise in performing take-offs and estimating for mechanical and plumbing projects.

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market trends.

  • Ability to clearly articulate complex preconstruction concepts to all stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills, patience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
