Job Title: Preconstruction Director

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a strategic and driven Preconstruction Director to lead and mentor our preconstruction department team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building long-term relationships while ensuring the successful delivery of value-driven, high-quality preconstruction services. This position plays a vital role in strategic planning, customer development, estimating, budgeting, and the overall growth of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to preconstruction and project management teams.
Lead initiatives in estimating, budgeting, proposal development, marketing/sales support, customer development, planning and scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and follow-up.
Actively participate in strategic planning and execution, including marketing and promoting services to current and potential clients.
Coordinate training initiatives in all aspects of the construction industry.
Manage and balance workload distribution across various profit centers and teams.
Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction budgets and schedules.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering responsive, innovative, and value-added services.
Work closely with senior project managers, business development teams, and marketing groups to ensure client satisfaction.
Foster a safety-first environment through training and promotion of safe work practices.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in construction project management.
3+ years leading a team of 6 or more direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience leading preconstruction teams and setting strategic direction.
Ability to meet and manage team goals, budgets, and deadlines effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong technical leadership with a focus on leveraging technology and analytics.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Expertise in performing take-offs and estimating for mechanical and plumbing projects.
Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market trends.
Ability to clearly articulate complex preconstruction concepts to all stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, patience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
