Job Overview:
The client is seeking a Logistics & Transportation Analyst responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and optimizing logistics processes related to the distribution and transportation of products within the supply chain. This role ensures compliance with transportation regulations and food safety requirements while focusing on improving the efficiency of product deliveries, especially food products, from large chains to restaurants. The analyst will work closely with the transportation, operations, and sales teams to ensure timely product delivery while minimizing damage and loss risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation Process Analysis & Optimization: Analyze and improve product transportation and distribution processes within the supply chain to ensure maximum efficiency.
  2. Route Performance Monitoring: Coordinate and monitor transportation routes, optimizing delivery times and reducing costs.
  3. Logistics Strategy Implementation: Implement logistics strategies to ensure the integrity and freshness of food products during transportation.
  4. Route Efficiency Analysis: Conduct route analysis within Puerto Rico’s geography, identifying opportunities to improve transportation efficiency.
  5. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with sales, transportation, and warehouse teams to align the supply chain for optimal performance.
  6. Logistics Performance Reporting: Generate performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions.
  7. Delivery Monitoring: Implement tools to track deliveries, ensuring punctuality and service quality.
  8. Route Coordination: Coordinate routes based on equipment availability, truck size relative to assigned routes, and driver assignments to meet delivery commitments.
  9. Traffic & Condition Analysis: Analyze traffic data, weather conditions, and other factors to ensure efficient and timely delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Transportation, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics analysis, preferably in food or perishable product transportation.
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics software and systems (Microsoft, AS-400, Omnitracs).
  • Strong communication skills within a dynamic environment.
  • Organizational and time management skills for managing multiple information systems dynamically.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing logistics in the transportation industry.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Supply Chain certification (preferred).
  • Experience in route optimization and transportation technology.
