What You'll Design & Develop

System Engineering

  • Perform sophisticated load calculations using Trane Trace 700 software
  • Select equipment to meet calculated load requirements and project specifications
  • Conduct life-cycle cost analyses to optimize energy efficiency and system performance
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations

Technical Documentation

  • Develop comprehensive HVAC systems including ductwork sizing, routing, and air distribution
  • Design plumbing systems from sanitary/vent to domestic water distribution
  • Create detailed technical drawings using Revit 2018 or higher
  • Coordinate mechanical requirements with architectural, electrical, structural, and civil teams

Project Collaboration

  • Work with Senior Engineers and Project Managers to develop engineering scope
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters
  • Conduct job site inspections and prepare detailed field reports
  • Maintain communication with project stakeholders and field personnel

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
  • Professional Engineer license OR commitment to take PE exam within 2 years
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
  • 5+ years of mechanical and plumbing system design experience

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Revit 2018 or higher
  • Windows environment competency
  • Understanding of mechanical system costs and installation (preferred)

  • Field Experience: Regular construction site visits for inspections and project coordination
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to navigate active construction sites including stairs and ladders
    • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds
    • Use of construction personnel hoists when required
  • Travel: Local job site visits throughout Georgia region
